Goodbye sweet prince

Barbara had sent the family attorney, Carl Baxter, with the hush money and a non disclosure agreement.  Bianca told Mrs. Holt that she was living in Waco Texas, even though it was less than two hours away from Austin,  Bianca had felt like telling her that truth of her location was a bad idea on every level.  As she walked into that cafe in Waco, she felt like a mark in a mob hit.  She wasn't entirely sure she wasn't being "offed" until Mr. Baxter shook her hand and wished her luck.

The cafe was dark in a bright backlit kind of way.  The only thing that Bianca could see clearly was the menu she was holding, everything else had a halo around it or was cast over in shadows.  It was giving her a headache trying to focus on her surroundings.  Bianca had intended to eat something after she and Mr. Baxter concluded their business, but the glare from the midmorning sunshine and the smell of fresh coffee were not setting well with her, holding a cashiers check for $100,000.00 in her hand was adding to her sense of discomfort so Bianca decided it was best to leave immediately back to Austin.

It felt wrong signing her devotion to Tyler away. For the first time since she fled Mississippi she felt the miserable ache of a broken heart.  She had loved Tyler, she still loved Tyler.  Bianca felt like the last few weeks had happened while she watched through a window. None if this felt real.  Her hormonally charged, cancer ridden body had been acting on pure nerve as if she were on autopilot navigating through the ordeal the way one navigates a dream. During this drive,  the $100,000.00 check sun bathing on the passenger seat of her car., suddenly reality was seeping in.  She was never going to see or speak to Tyler again, if she did she would owe Barbara Holt every penny of the money back.  Her prince of Oxford was no longer hers.  She placed her hand on her abdomen and rubbed her newly protruding middle. Tyler wouldn't have a chance to meet this baby, or even know that it ever existed. She thought to herself how unfair that seemed to her now.  She had been so busy convincing her self of all the things she had needed to believe Tyler wasn't so that she qualify her actions, she didn't stop to consider all of the things he truly was.

No, Bianca thought, I mustn't indulge myself this way.  She was on a new path now and there was no room here for dredging up her old feelings or reveling in dispair.   "I have to stay focused. Job. Home. Baby. Life."
