"Well obviously you will terminate this nightmare of a pregnancy, you will store some eggs prior to your hysterectomy, then proceed with surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. We will have the wedding as planned, Bufford says it's possible for you to be recovered enough from the surgery to participate with some pain killers, of course you won't drink, but your not old enough anyway so that's not really a problem, besides not drinking will prevent any embarrassing displays, brides shouldn't drink any way...yes you will hold a champagne flute, you just won't drink it. After the wedding you can begin your therapies and when the time is appropriate you and Tyler will find a suitable surrogate and have your child. " Barbara had rattled off with no heir of sensitivity. "Look at it this way dear, you get to keep your figure and a wife battling cancer would do wonders for Tylers career if he decided, as I am certain he will, to get involved in politics and eventually run for office. A child conceived in wedlock then terminated while cohabitating in sin, however, would not be recieved as well, so we will just omit all of that. That means, darling, Tyler must not ever know anything the pregnancy. My son's are romantics to a fault, I don't know where they get it, certainly not their father. Anyway, you are reasonable girl, I've have given this a lot of consideration, this is how we must progress to serve everyone's best interests. Of course Bufford and I will pay for everthing your insurance won't cover and we will even get you re enrolled in school so that you will have some credibility as the wife of a politician, no small children to distract you from your future."
Bianca had sat silent on the line, absorbing every word of Mrs. Holts well thought out plan. Clearly Barbara had indeed thought it through. She had covered everybase and recited the plan in a clear decisive manner. Bianca wasn't surprised at her suggestions or her forward manner, she had expected this, that's why she had called her, to obliterate any doubt that she had made the right decision but Bianca had another ulterior motive up her sleeve as well. If her plan was to work she had to maintain her composure, to had to play the evil queen Holt just right.
"Bianca it's time to put an end to this little sabbatical of yours and come back home. I appreciate your discretion with Tyler until we could get some answers and now we have them. He is a mess, you should have called him, the ambiguous text messages about finding yourself were very misleading, he is convinced you have left him. He has job interviews this week and next, you know that, he must pull himself together and you must return before that is going to happen. So when will you be headed back, I can begin scheduling everything and of course we will need to have dinner so you can explain your cancer to Tyler, I think it best I be present so nothing gets too dramatic or emotional, we need to be adults."
Oh my God, Bianca thought. This woman is pure evil. Barbara had let Bianca tell her what the results of the test were...and that had been all that she had said! Bianca had assumed that Bufford had a pretty good idea what he was looking at after the emergency room visit, so Barbara had been afforded amble time to devise "their" plan. Bianca was in no position to burn her bridge with Barbara Holt. She had little money, no job prospects or permanent residence. She needed Barbara to help her dissapear, and she knew that Mrs. Holt would gladly oblige. Thank heavens that Barbara was every bit the monster Bianca had expected her to be otherwise she would be back at square one with no plan b.
